Elginburg and District Public School was awarded first place in 2006 by Schools in Bloom Ontario for garden related initiaves. Special recognition was granted to The Hertiage Quilt Project, which is a patchwork of perceptions of the school garden.

Ways to get involved:

Register your school for Kingston Schools in Bloom. This program encourages schools to enrich their schoolyard greening efforts. Watch for registration forms at your school in March 2007. Contact Sue Hitchcock at 613-546-4291 ext. 1716.

Submit floral or garden pictures to the Students' Art Gallery located at Hotel Dieu Hospital. Portfolios for the Spring Exhibition will be accepted on April 17, 2007. For more information, contact Ralph Westgarth at 613-542-8387 or 613-546-1986.
